Ava & Zoey are just the cutest lil' things!!! I was honored to share their 2nd birthday with them and their amazing parents who clearly love them to bits. I hope the memories that we've captured mean even more to them as the years pass. When the girls grow up they'll be able to see how much they were loved & taken care of, and what life was like before they welcomed their baby brother home. Be sure to check out their Custom Slideshow at the bottom of this post!
Brook and Matt Seevers were married in 2013. Brook brought 3 biological children into the marriage (Ruben, Hunter Ann and Isabelle, whom Matt is an amazing step-father to). They went through IVF and fertility treatments to try and conceive children of their own, only to realize that fostering and adoption would be a better choice for them as a couple. With their children's blessing, they went ahead and went through the rigorous paperwork and scrutiny to become a foster family. They had many children come through their door, and they agreed that if the parents lives didn't change, they would most definitely adopt no matter their age. During this time, they adopted Nayla who was 4 years old when she came into their home, and Emerson has been with the Seevers since 11 days old, right from the hospital. Trevin and Jaxon are biological brothers to Emerson. Their parents lives didn't get better and their rights were terminated in March. Matt and Brook agreed from the beginning that they'd love to have the boys live with them as well. So on this day, they adopted all 3 boys. They are so excited to share their home, last name and life with them. Below are a few of the sweet moments captured during the adoption and the celebration after, at The Mead Inn in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
When I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a mom. I'd stay at home with my 3-5 kids, play and take care of them all day long while my husband was at work. After I became a mom, I realized that these days that's not easy to do. More often than not, you need at least 2 jobs to raise a child. So I completely understood Valerie's joy when she emailed me to schedule a session to thank her husband Jake. He works hard to allow her to stay home three days a week with their kiddos. For Father's day Val wanted to give Jake some photos that would show him a sneak peek into their day, and that show the hard work, love, and learning that she gets to share with their children. They even created a little art project to tell daddy about all of the reasons that they love him. Val is an amazing mother, and Otto and Evelyn (how adorable are their names?!) are just so sweet, funny and smart... enjoy!
Life moves so quickly. We are so busy with our day to day errands and activities, that we don’t realize how many memories we’re making until years later. Teaching your kiddo to brush their teeth, playing with toys, making breakfast…just being together. These are the memories that you’ll want to cherish and keep with you forever. I recently spent a sunny spring morning with spunky little Rowan and her amazing mom Ivy, (I know, right?? Beautiful names!). Please enjoy, and be sure to watch their film at the end!
Interested in a session of your own? Let's chat! :)
K.C. & Steve are such a great couple. They are both so much fun, kind, and have the best sense of humor. Just a few years back I took their engagement photos, and this year they were blessed with adorable baby Cooper (I know! Cutest name ever!) I was honored that they trusted me to document such important memories with their new little man.
